Student Achievement

School performance on Oregon Summative Assessments (OSAS) can be found on Oregon Department of Education reports:

  • Public Assessment Group reports are normally published in September each year. Public Assessment Group reports are available here.
  • State report cards are published in October each year. There are two components to these reports:
    • The At-A-Glance reports are the official report cards and are available here:
    • Report card detail reports are used to determine school accountability status. (note that these were suspended for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 school years)
    • Both reports are searchable at this page.

Annual Notice for Statewide Tests

The Annual Notice for Statewide Tests is published by ODE at the beginning of each school year. This notice informs parents of state testing requirements, why participation matters and parent and adult student rights regarding state testing. These copies are provided for reference:

30-Day Notice for Statewide Tests and Opt-out Form

Parent Request for Opting Out of Oregon Summative Assessments (ELA and Math)

If a form is submitted after a student has begun testing, the student will stop testing, but items answered up to that point will be scored and the student will receive a performance level and/or overall score.

30-Day Notice and ELA/Math Opt-out Form (grades 3-8 & 11)

If you have questions about ELPA Summative testing, please talk with your school administrator.

Star Assessments are short tests that provide teachers with learning data. Star tests are computer-adaptive, which means they adjust to each answer your child provides. This helps teachers get the best data to help your child in the shortest amount of testing time (about one-third of the time other tests take).

Your child may take a Star test for early literacy, math, reading, or other subjects of their teacher’s choice
