2/26/26 - Incident on Bus
Dear Seaside Families,
I want to inform you of a situation that occurred this morning and the steps we took to ensure the safety of our students and staff. When a bus arrived at school, the driver discovered what appeared to be an empty handgun magazine clip on the bus. The item was immediately turned in to the district office, and the Seaside Police Department was contacted right away.
In cooperation with Seaside Police, it was determined that the plastic piece found was most likely part of a toy gun. Out of an abundance of caution and to ensure the continued safety of everyone in our building, students who rode that bus were brought together into a secure space. School administrators and Seaside Police conducted a search of students’ backpacks and personal belongings. No items were found that would indicate the presence of any weapon or any threat to students or staff.
The safety of our students and staff remains our highest priority.
